As an architect for Bank of America (and formerly Fleet Bank and Norstar Savings), Scheid Architectural has been charged with several projects since 1989. These projects range from renovation of existing branch to the design and construction management of several new facilities.
Scheid Architectural has been charged with the design and construction of several new facilities for Bank of America. These facilities include Elmwood Ave (Buffalo, NY), Camillus Commons (Camillus, NY), Fillmore Ave (Buffalo, NY), Vineyard Drive (Dunkirk, NY), Niagara Falls Blvd. (Tonawanda, NY).
New Banking Facility - Elmwood Ave, Buffalo, NY
This new 4,500 square foot banking center located in an urban business district and was designed to comply with constraints placed on the project by the local municipality and Elmwood Village Association as well the complex site. Integration of the design and construction process between Bank of America, Scheid Architectural and Lehigh Construction Group allowed the project's construction to be completed within 14 weeks.
The new banking center was designed to include a drive thru, parking behind the building, and increased green space which includes four bicycle parking spaces as well as a 2 story facade tying the building to the urban fabric. Additional improvements were made to the access drive of the Women's and Children's Hospital parking ramp. Two existing driveways totaling 41 feet were eliminated and a shared 24 foot driveway was created. This new feature augments pedestrian safety and fills the void in the urban fabric between the two structures.
This project was a finalist for the best new construction category for the 2008 Brick by Brick Award.
New Banking Facility - Niagara Falls Blvd, Tonawanda, NY
This new 5,000 square foot branch bank is located on an 'L' shaped site along a 6 lane boulevard. Site layout and traffic patterns led to the design of a main structure and detached Drive-Thru building.
Recognition of the building was a major concern of the Owner due to its location on a densely packed commercial strip. As the Bank's identifying sign could get lost among the many others, the building itself serves as a sign of the Bank through its colors, materials and glass and steel 'identity tower' which serves as the building's main entrance.
Extensive landscaping also helps to unite the two buildings as well as providing much needed vegetation and green space along the road.
In our long standing relationship with Bank of America, Scheid Architectural has provided a variety of renovation services. Major renovations an existing full service branch can consist of reorganization of interior layouts, the integration of new banking equipment, the construction of additional space, and updates of the building's exterior. All work was in conformance with the Bank's corporate standardization program and typically is completed while the branch remains operational.
Scheid Architectural has also performed over 25 ADA accessibility updates for Bank of America. These updates provide the required correction to existing banking facilities to increase accessibility for bank customers. |
