Scheid Architectural is a local design firm
specializing in industrial, mid-sized commercial and public buildings for the
Western New York Region. Since our beginnings in 1989, we have designed for over
$40 million in capital construction. Over 80% of this work has been for a small
group of repeat clients who include Pratt & Lambert, Cooper Industries, Fleet
Bank, General Motors Corp., American Axle, Citibank and Pierce & Stevens Corp.
We take great pride in our record of establishing and holding quality business
partner relationships with our clients.
Our staff is well educated and experienced in
building and renovation projects ranging from 2000 s.f. to 30,000 s.f. We have
in-house capabilities to complete over 80% of all required Design Services for
this size building and work hard to produce long lasting, aesthetically pleasing
structures. We understand that the project belongs to the Owner. We add the
Construction and Design expertise to the Project Owner's needs and wants to
create a successful project.
We maintain the latest CADD
Systems as well as computerized specifications, estimating, graphic design and
building code systems. This allow us to focus our time in the questions and
problems of the Design/Construction rather than on the logistics.

Practicing architecture since 1986, Doug Scheid lends a unique combination of skills that can only be
attained through experience coupled with innovative forethought. His desire to
offer clients expertise in the entire planning process has afforded him a
crucial and non-traditional role in project management. With an extensive
knowledge base including capital budgeting, present value calculation and
quality functioning development (QFD), Doug has been able to take on an active
role in assisting clients from the earliest design stages. Through his
experience as facilities engineer with Pierce & Stevens, Doug gained insight and
understands first hand the ramifications of design as well as a working
knowledge of maintenance and facility operations.
Doug's history of actively
pursuing excellence has been evident throughout his scholastic and professional
careers. The work he began in developing new educational programs in his role as
President and Vice President of the student chapter of the AIA is continued
today through his appointment to the Board of Directors. His participation and
firm belief in giving back to the community has enabled him to effect positive
changes through the committees on which he serves.
Doug's enthusiasm, knowledge and
understanding offer unequaled value to each project the firm has the privilege
of undertaking.
